The 4th of July has always been a favorite holiday of mine. I love staying out late and watching beautiful shapes and colors in the sky. The day became even more fun for me after becoming a photographer. I love photographing the fireworks! I only get the opportunity to photograph fireworks once a year but I do find as the years go on I shoot a little less and watch a little more. Still, I got a few to share :). We found a great spot near Enger Tower, packed some snacks and had a lot of fun hanging out! I particularly loved how the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge turned red, white, and blue after the display was over! Such a cool touch. The photo at the end of the blog is my kids playing with sparklers :). You can get images like this capturing a sparkler's movement by placing your camera on a tripod or somewhere where it doesn't move and leaving the shutter open for a few seconds. Here is a blog post I made on how to capture the movement of sparklers awhile back for more details on how to do this! You can make cool shapes with this method but you have to do everything backwards!
